Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks and Shaping Lip Liners

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks and Shaping Lip Liners

When spring hits I always feel the urge to dive back into makeup again. The weather is warmer, my mood is lifted, and there are always a ton of gorgeous new releases to check out. So when I got the opportunity to review the new Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks and Shaping Lip Liners, I couldn't say no.

Maybelline lipsticks always remind me of old school makeup, without the weird talcum powder smell. I feel like an old Hollywood star whenever I pull out one of their tubes and they click shut with such a satisfying sound. The packaging of the lipsticks is quality. Plus the tube texture changes for matte lipsticks so they're easier to spot without having to read a label. A nice added touch.

The Color Sensational shade range is seriously impressive with tons of shades to choose from. There's even a "Midnight Blue" shade which is straight up navy for any adventurous makeup wearers. My personal favorites (I'm sure you can guess) are "Born with It" and "Warm Me Up" as they're fabulous choices for my-lips-but-better lipsticks. I'm also a big fan of "Berry Bossy." It's the purple-est shade I own, but I just love it for a bold lip to make a statement.

No matter the finish, I find these lipsticks incredibly wearable. They last a good number of hours while staying put on the lips. Product does transfer off while drinking and eating, but it doesn't leave a weird halo behind. The color fades evenly and "Rich Ruby" and "Berry Bossy" stain the lips to leave behind a bit of color even after they're long gone. Plus these don't pill up as I'm wearing them. It's one of my biggest lipstick pet peeves that'll sure to cause me to chuck a lipstick.

Although I'm not a huge lip liner gal, these Maybelline Shaping Lip Liners may have converted me. They're so creamy and easy to apply on the lips without any tugging. They leave a really solid base for a lipstick on top or create a nice matte look on their own. As for the shaping aspect, I found them to really help define my lip line when usually it kind of just trails off. It made applying lipstick a whole lot easier too.

Plus the range has a ton of neutral shades to choose from to get the perfect nude look. Crayon are the way to go so you aren't messing around with sharpeners and losing product with pencils, but if the crayon does get dull there is a built in sharpener in the bottom! Such a cool design element added in.

I can't wait to continue to play around with the lipsticks and lip liners to try out different combinations. And who knows. Maybe I'll try a seriously bold lip for my sister's upcoming bachelorette party in a few weeks!?
