ButterLONDON Shine Out Loud

When I found out that butterLONDON did more than just beautiful nail polishes, I just about died. I have a weird love of brands that break out of their shell and try something new, and butterLONDON does an amazing job at doing just that. Their Shine Out Loud Collection focuses on a lot of trends that are happening or going to happen...which is definitely not something I actively keep up on but appreciate being in the know.

Let's first talk about the mascara. I'm a stickler when it comes to what I want in a mascara, and I was pleasantly surprised by the Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara. The wand is definitely a weird one (they show it on the website), but it holds a curl, separates my lashes, and provides a healthy amount of volume. The bobble on the end was a bit hard to work with at first, but soon it made complete sense and I was layering on the mascara like a pro.

The Ladybird Blood Brilliant Lip Crayon's design is flawless. The packaging has a built-in sharpener that just makes sense. The consistency is creamy and pigmented, but definitely not a color I'm going to be rocking on a regular basis. I've worn it around the house just to test out, and it has great lasting power and fades nicely (none of that splotchy business). It's such an odd shade though because it's not orange and it's not red, just like the nail polish in the collection. They're both teetering on the color edge and it makes for such an interesting finish.

The website describes the Ladybird Nail Lacquer as a tomato red, which perfectly sums up the strange not-so-red-not-so-orange colors. The brush that comes with the butterLONDON polishes is my favorite. It's not too thick and not too thin, but covers the nail in a nice even coat in a few strokes.

My favorite product from the collection has to be the WINK Eye Pencil in "Union Jack Black." I didn't expect much from it when I first brought it out of its package as I'm somewhat biased towards eye liners thanks to the Stila Smudge Sticks, but this held its own. It's a not-quite-black dark navy blue that works really well to subtly tight-line the eyes. It's creamy, doesn't tug, and has some great lasting power.

The Shine Out Loud Collection definitely tests my comfort zone, but the products are top notch and becoming fast favorites. Stay tuned for a birthday giveaway I'll be doing later this month with some products from the collection and other things!

What would you like to try from the range?

xoxo Kayla
