Drugstore Favorites

It's been ages since I've given the drugstore products a thorough talking about. I feel myself becoming a beauty snob more and more these days so in an effort to save my cash and to show a little love, let's talk about my current drugstore favorites.

The NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette is by far my favorite of the bunch. It is stellar beyond belief. It's a perfect replacement for any of the higher end brands' offerings I'm sure. I could probably go on for days about this palette, but I'll spare you this time. Swooooooon.

I always seem to forget how lovely the Essence Match 2 Cover Concealer is. I love the fact that it comes with two different shades so you can mix and blend to create the perfect color for whatever you're concealing. I do find that it fades throughout the day, but most of my concealers do and require touching up in the afternoon.

A new addition to my primer lineup is the Maybelline Master Prime. Although it definitely does not come close to replacing my One Step Correct, it's been fun trying out a new primer. I like mixing it with the One Step Correct to give it a little something extra. There is a touch of silicone feeling to this primer, but it's faint and I'm probably just being picky.

One of my favorite eye shadow bases of all time is the NYX Eye Shadow Base in "Skin tone." It's thick, but blends out like a dream to even out my somewhat discolored eye lids (it's hard to explain). It really helps to brighten up shadows and make them last so much longer.

Another new addition to my drugstore beauty stash is the NYC City Proof 24 Hr Waterproof Eye Shadow in "Tribeca Taupe." I'm not usually one to gravitate towards cooler toned products, but this one caught my eye over the other shades in the line. I'm a sucker for products that make getting ready in the morning easier and anything in stick form calls my name. It does take a bit to blend this up to a dark pigmentation, but it's super easy to blend and lasts the entire work day.

Finally I've really grown to like the Rimmel Scandaleys Shadow Paint in "Rich Russet" after a bit of a bumpy start getting on with it. It's definitely a wet product that you have to be quick to blend out one eye at a time. Yet the color pay off is a metallic dream. I've never had such a metallic looking shadow before. Definitely worth a try out.

What drugstore products have you been loving lately? Anything I have to check out?

xoxo Kayla

  3. I've seen most of these products in the drugstore before but have never really looked them over. I definitely need to give some of these a go.
