Winter Warriors

This winter is cold. It hasn't been all that snowy, but it has seriously upped the cold ante. My skin has been begging for moisture and I've scoured my beauty stash for the best products to help my poor dry skin out.

For skincare the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask is my holy grail all year round, but in the winter it is a gift from the gods. A creamy mask you leave on your skin the whole night, this product definitely isn't for everyone (I've heard a lot of your mixed reviews). Yet for my dry/normal skin, nothing can beat it. In the mornings my skin is plumb, healthy looking, and ready to take on the day.

I have a terrible habit of biting my lips when I'm nervous and the winter air just makes the habit so much worse. Besides slathering on the lip balms, LUSH's Mint Julips Lip Scrub really helps to take off all the dry, cracked skin and get my lips back to looking normal. It helps my lipsticks sit better as well.

Although I don't like wearing heavy bases in the winter, a base is especially important to act as a little shield of sorts. My favorite winter combo is the Stila One Step Correct with the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer on top. There's SPF to block some of the winter rays and it leaves my skin looking dewy, but not drowning in product.

A new step I've added this year has seriously amped up my moisture game. A few spritzes of the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray keeps my makeup looking fresh while adding another layer of protection and moisture. Those winter winds can't get me!

Finally I like lip products that are moisturizing, but sink into the lips for a nice stain. I wear a lot of scarves in the winter and my hair is wiping all over the place so a lip product my hair won't get stuck to is a must. The Clinique Chubby Stick in "Grandest Grape" is my go to favorite.

Winter is the season I much rather just have pass by quietly while I'm inside my warm apartment, but real life forces me to go right out into it. These products are my little winter warriors; helping me get through one freezing day at a time.

What products do you use in the winter?

xoxo Kayla

  1. These seem like lovely products and it's not cold where I'm at but the lip scrub and primer seem nice.

  2. It's been in the negatives with windchill here in Massachusetts, so I totally feel you - my skin is suffering! I swear by the Origins mask as well. The primer + tinted moisturizer combo sounds so nice! I've been wanting to try both of those.
