This Week's Most Loved #47

Another Friday, another favorites post. Let's get into it.

This week I've been all about the Clinique Almost Lipstick in "Black Honey". It's amazing as providing tons of hydration while still having color to it. Kind of the best of both worlds product that will be keeping my lips from drying up this winter.

I've finally got my hands on the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray and have been really enjoying it. I'm still having trouble getting it to spray out product consistently, but once it does mist out, I've been loving it's results. I feel like my makeup does actually last longer and look fresher throughout the day.

For some odd reason I haven't been cat eyeing it as much as I used to. I vowed this week to bring the winged eye liner look back, so my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is back in my not-so-steady hands working on the perfect flick. I love how dark this baby is while still being easy to use. Plus it stays put.

I've also really been enjoying my new Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Soft Brown." Although I would prefer just a tad darker shade, I really love how this makes my brows look. It's so easy to use and the spoolie really is a nice addition. I can definitely see what the fuss is all about.

What products have you been loving this week?

Giving Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I wanted to do something different this year for Thanksgiving and take a break from beauty blogging for the day. I do desperately love beauty blogging, but it's times like these where it's better to reflect than rave about a new blush I'm loving.

First off, I want to say thank you for being such amazing readers. Every day I see the same wonderful people commenting on my posts and engaging with my content. It's downright amazing. I love my small little community and getting to know all of you more. Thank you so much for being there for me and giving this blog a point to exist.

My family and Alex's family shows me so much support on a daily basis that I almost can't handle all the love. I'm very lucky to have two amazing support groups who are always cheering me on in everything I attempt. Sure they may not always understand the beauty blogging world, but they are proud and can't stop bragging about me.

Then there's Alex. Who knows more than he would ever want about makeup and beauty. He's my biggest cheerleader and the one to push me to achieve more. I'm so thankful every day to have that goofball in my life to laugh with and try new things.

I'm also incredibly thankful for my Greek family. I have some amazing littles and a growing family full of wonderful women who are going places. They're my best friends and the craziest group I know. Being in a sorority definitely has its ups and downs, but with them it's only ever the good stuff.

I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving filled with delicious food and family. I know I will.

See you tomorrow for your regular beauty programming!!

Thanksgiving Makeup Bag

This Thanksgiving I'm heading down to Virginia to celebrate with Alex's family. We'll be staying for three days with lots of festivities and adventures in between. My makeup bag selections have to be everyday appropriate with the option for something a little more fancy. I think I've gathered the perfect team.

The Stila One Step Correct primer is a given, as well as my two different shades of the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer to mix for the perfect shade. For concealer I'm bringing my two favorites, the Bobbi Brown Corrector in "Light Bisque" for the under eyes and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for everywhere else (specifically my red shining Rudolph nose). My blush choice was an easy one as Revlon's "Wine Not" can be worn lightly for a nice flush or really built up for an evening look. For brows I've been testing out the Anastasia Brow Wiz in "Soft Brown" lately and want to see it in action during travel.

On to eyes I've brought a lot of different products for any time of look I'll want to create during the trip. I'm bringing my trusty NYX Eye Shadow Base in "Skin Tone" as it's the creamiest and best base I've tried to date. I'm going to be out and about and not having time to worry if my shadows are still there. This base takes all worry away. I'm bringing my trusty Stila in the Light Palette as it has every time of Thanksgiving festive shade I could want. I know I'll be piling on "Kitten" like a fiend during the few days for a perfectly shimmery eye.

Two eye liners are coming with me for day and night looks. MAC's Eye Kohl Pencil in "Teddy" will do nicely for more natural, smudged out day looks with Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner for cat eyes and bolder lines in the evening. Maybelline's The Rocket Mascara is a fool proof choice for bold, voluminous lashes that hold their curl all day long.

I tend to always overdo it on lip products so I'm trying to keep things minimal this trip by only bringing two. MAC's "Syrup" is a must for a moisturized every day my lips but better look while Clinique's Chubby Stick in "Grandest Grape" is a perfect option for a bold lip while still packing the moisture.

I'm so excited for the trip but not really looking forward to the long car ride there. I have the books I'm currently reading though so I'll be all set!

The Skincare Edit

My skincare game is back to where it used to be and I've been loving every sudsy minute of it. It's so easy for me to get into a skincare rut so I've been trying to rotate products in and out that I know work well with my skin.

I can't go without my Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm no matter what condition my skin seems to be in. It's the perfect cleanser to remove everything off my skin. Scent free and great with a little water added to it before rinsing off, I won't be giving this up any time soon.

I always like to follow up the cleansing balm with another cleanser to make sure every last bit of makeup and grim is off my face. Lately I've been using the REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk as my skin has been a little sensitive with the change of weather. It's gentle on the skin while still feeling like it's cleaning. I could live without the scent, but it isn't unbearable.

After the double cleanse it's toner time. Nothing beats the Body Shop's Vitamin E Hydrating Toner. I've tried a variety of different toners but none are as gentle and effective as this one. If I'm feeling fancy I'll use a serum next. The Body Shop's Vitamin C Facial Radiance Capsules are something I use on very rare occasions as it's not the cheapest of products without a discount. They make my skin feel silky smooth and I always feel cool using them. The little pod is just enough product to cover all the necessary parts of my face.

Moisturizer is next and is one of the most switched out steps of my skincare routine. There are a lot of different moisturizers I love, the Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer being one of the first I discovered. It's incredibly light and provides a nice helping of hydration without being to thick or taking forever to sink into the skin.

In the evenings I slather on Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I'm obsessed with this stuff. It provides an insane amount of moisture and I wake up with my skin feeling refreshed and plump. Definitely a must try if you haven't yet!

What's your skincare routine?

Current Lip Loves

I think it's safe to say that my favorite makeup products have to be lip products. They're so pretty to look at, are constantly different from one another, and are just perfect. I try to switch up my lip products as much as I possibly can, but these three have been returning to my lips quite a lot lately.

Maybelline Lipstick in "Mauve Mania" is the most lipstick of these offerings and my least favorite of the group. It has great pigmentation, decent lasting power for a drugstore product, and is my favorite color of lip product. During the work week I definitely reach for the hassle free products that don't require a mirror to apply or maintain.

You already know my love for the Clinique Chubby Sticks and it's no different with the Clinique Chubby StickMoisturizing Colour Balm in "Super Strawberry". It's more classic pink than I normally go, but it's oh so moisturizing and packs a wallop of color while layering on the moisture.

Finally I have been surprisingly in love with the Clinique Almost Lipstick in "Black Honey" that I picked up in a Sephora sample bag. It's like a lip balm, but has a very transparent pigmentation despite the color in the tube. I almost didn't even give it a chance because it looked so dark. It applies much more sheer on the lips, but blends with my natural lip color to really give a my lips but a little bit better look. It's so moisturizing and definitely a must have in my purse with the cold winds we've been having.

What lip products have you been obsessed with lately?

This Week's Most Loved #46

I feel like I had to fight through a blizzard of a week to get to today. Not to mention the heaps of snow that keep falling and causing a winter tundra outside. I like snow, but I definitely hate winter. Here are the products I've been loving this week!

Every couple of months I'll rekindle my love for my Urban Decay Naked Palette. It's one of the first big makeup purchases I've ever made and it definitely was a good one. It's also one of the only palettes I've used the entire spectrum of repeatedly. Incredibly pigmentation but with a bit of fallout trouble every now and again that I just can't seem to avoid. It's a good'un that every addict should (and probably already does) own.

I'm still downright obsessed with the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray. It smells like Smarties, works wonders at giving grit and texture to my hair, and lasts all day. Definitely my most beloved hair care product I've found. It's going to be a long love affair with this one I just know it.

There's something about using the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in "Plushie" that makes me feel wild and adventurous. Probably because I barely stray from the neutral eye life. This purple liner is great to add a little pizzazz to my look without going too crazy. I like to tight line my eyes with it or put some in the outer corners of my upper lash line.

Finally I always come back to the Maybelline the Rocket Volum' Express Mascara. It just works. By far the only mascara I can count on no matter what to provide me the volume and separation I'm looking for. My only complaint is that by the end of the day my lashes have definitely lost their curl, but I blame my pesky lashes for not having the strength to stay fabulous more than the mascara. It's affordable and amazing, that's all I'm lookin' for.

What products have you been loving this week? I definitely want to hear!

Sephora VIB Sale and Other Goodies

It's a scientific fact that no beauty blogger can escape the allure of the Sephora VIB sale. When the mother ship calls I immediately answer and buy way too many things.

Whenever there's a sale I have to pick up backups of my beloved Stila One Step Correct. By far my favorite primer it's a must have and something I can't go a day without. I also picked up a backup of the Bobbi Brown Corrector in "Light Bisque". I've been working my way through my first pot for a while now and took the plunge to commit to a second container. It's great for days where I don't want terribly heavy coverage under my eyes but still have dark circles that need masking.

I decided it was the perfect time to try the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray and the Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil in "Soft Brown". I've been looking at these two products for months and couldn't justify buying them until the sale. So far the Setting Spray is proving difficult as it won't always spray when I push the nozzle. It results in some seriously awkward mornings of me sitting with my eyes closed pushing vigorously on the spray pump. The Brow Wiz has been fun to try out and I picked up a somewhat lighter more natural shade to see how I get on with that look. More to come on these products I'm sure.

I used some of my VIB points to get the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in "Super Strawberry". As soon as I saw that it was available as a reward I scooped it up immediately. The Clinique Chubby Sticks are my Pokemon and I will catch them all. I also ended up getting the Flawless Refresh Sample Set. I got one of these sets last year and love the bag it comes in. Plus who doesn't love trying out a crapload of new products in one fell swoop?

A few days later I found myself in TJ Maxx in the beauty aisles where I spotted the Elizabeth Arden Perpetual Moisture and Elizabeth Arden Good Morning Skin Serum. I've heard great things about Elizabeth Arden plus they were like a zillion percent off so into the cart they went. The products no longer seem to be on the main website but I found a link to them from amazon. The packaging is so divine but I have yet to dive into testing them out. My to test list is quite lengthy, that's for sure. I'm on an unofficial spending ban until after the holidays. I've been out of control!

Did you pick up anything in the Sephora VIB sale?

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Lip Colour Balm in "Grandest Grape"

Although it hasn't been in my life long, the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in "Grandest Grape" is the best thing to happen since sliced bread. It's been quite the love affair already and I had to share it with you.

The packaging is perfect. Lip products in easy to apply packaging is just the cherry on top in my book. Super easy to use and get the product right where I want it. The shade is spot on for a stellar grapey plum shade that's still easy to wear without much fuss. It has just enough purple to make a statement but still steers clear from vampy; a look I have yet to attempt.

The product itself is the creamiest, richest consistency I've used to date. It feels just like a lip balm or other hydrating lip product yet packs some of the highest pigmentation I've seen. After an hour or so the balm dries into more of a stain that I prefer when wearing darker lips. It stays in place and doesn't dry out the lips in the slightest during its stain stage. It's basically just perfect. More of these gems need to get into my collection and fast.

Have you tried the Clinique Chubby Sticks yet?

Paper Source Gift Guide

I find myself eyeing up Paper Source's website all too often and for good reason. They just kill it in the odds and ends department and is the perfect place to find good gifts. As soon as I saw the Paper Source Fox Glasses I thought of Alex. They're just so cute and a nice little something extra. I love cute glassware and I'm not one for having to have all my glasses look the same.

For the stationery lover in your life the Rifle Journals are a must. I've had this set for about a year now and have yet to write anything in them! I like them for blog photo props and just can't get up the nerve to use them. Hopefully the paper product lover in your life will actually write in them!

I seriously had my mind on Alex when looking at the Paper Source website because when I saw the Gentleman's Wash Bag and the Guide to American Whisky, Bourbon, and Rye I thought, "Oh yes." I find guys incredibly hard to shop for. Women are easy yet guys just stump me. These two items are perfect! I can finally get Alex to stop shoving all his travel stuff into a disastrous mess and have something nice to store his toiletries in!

The 50 Jobs Worse Than Yours book seems perfect for the hard worker in your life who isn't crazy about their occupation. A lot of my friends are graduating college and finding themselves in not-so-desirable filler jobs until they land in their careers, so this would be the perfect little hat tip to that while giving them a good laugh.

Let's talk gifts for kids and parents. Alex has a few nieces and nephews in his life and the Doodles at Dinner or Teepee Kit would be great gifts for their parents. The Doodles at Dinner is a cute way to keep kids busy at restaurants that don't have kids menus to draw in or paper tablecloths to color on. The teepees are just too cute and it would be a really fun craft to do while learning some history.

Stay tuned for more from my Gift Guide Series!

Testing....Testing...

There's just something about this time of year that has the new beauty products flooding into my collection. It gets a little overwhelming when the dish on my counter top of new products I need to test out gets alarmingly full really fast! I'm working my way through products and doing some serious testing lately.

I've never done eye masks before so the VII O2M Oxygen Eye Mask has definitely been intriguing. The box came with six pairs to help fade dark circles (#mylife) and reduce wrinkles. I was looking for something a little extra to add to my pamper evening routines so we'll see if this does just the trick.

A new brand I've recently been exploring is Modere. I've been testing out a handful of their products from their beauty box like the Dual Action Eye Gel, the Antioxidant Hair Serum, and the Exfoliant. They have quite the unique beauty box experience that I'll be giving you all the details about in a week or so. The packaging and brand feel are definitely there, now let's see if the quality of the product can keep up!

With final papers for grad school coming up and a lot of products to test out, I definitely have quite a lot of homework to do! Do you find yourself with a lot of new products to test out during the holiday season like I do? What products are you testing out right now?

This Week's Most Loved #45

It's weekly favorites time again and I have a lot of new and returning products to share with you. The change of weather has really affected my skin so I've been mixing things up to add moisture and that dewy look I love back to my skin.

The savior of the week is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. Every winter like clock work my skin suddenly becomes a painful desert of moisture-less existence. This overnight mask is the only thing to help my skin feel normal again. Definitely a must have holy grail.

My dark eye circles are back with a vengeance as I've been filling up my days to the brim. The Clinique All About Eyes dark circle reducer is working overtime to help me look less like a zombie in the mornings. A nice thick cream that sinks in nicely. I can't report fully on its long term effects as I've just started using it, but so far it's been lovely.

The Clinique Chubby Stick in "Grandest Grape" is one of those products that I regret not getting months prior because I'm downright obsessed. Seriously. My love knows no bounds for this beautiful dark plum shade. The moisture. Oh the moisture. The creamiest, smoothest application.

I've really been enjoying mixing things up in the eye shadow realm with OFRA's "Rendezvous". I've never considered using a orange/brown blush for a shadow before, but the idea struck me and I've been running with it ever since. It adds a nice twist to the neutral eye look and is pigmented beyond belief. OFRA really knows how to pack that pigment in.

When I'm not using "Rendezvous" I've been breaking out Maybelline's "Barely Branded" Color Tattoo to help brighten up my eyes after long nights of fulfilling Oh, Hello orders. It's just so easy to use. One swipe with a finger and 4 more hours of sleep are added to my face. If only they could actually be added then I'd buy Maybelline out.

What products have you been loving this week?

ModCloth Gift Guide

This post contains affiliate links, and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Let's kick off the 2014 Gift Guide Series with one of my favorite places to shop. I've bought countless dresses and decor items over the years and have already placed a few gift orders for friends. Here are some goodies I've stumbled across that would make great gifts for the quirky people in your life.

104 Things to Photograph is an awesome book for a budding photographer or someone who could use a little motivation to pick up the camera again. I love these fun books that help motivate you to get out and have a hobby. When I saw the Finders Steepers Infuser I had to stop myself from putting it into my cart immediately. A squirrel whose tail infuses the loose tea into your cup?! I need regardless of the fact I have a very nice tea pot that infuses loose tea like a champ and in large quantities. There are a bunch of really adorable tea infusers for sale for any tea obsessed friends or squirrel enthusiasts.

Who wouldn't want a bacon and egg Brunch Bunch Scarf to keep them warm for what I fear will be one of the worst winters I've ever experienced? I love pieces like this that are quirky, unique, and unlike anything other people have. Plus I love bacon so it's a win, win right? Keeping along with quirky the The Wes Anderson Collection Book would be perfect for the movie buff in your life or a fellow Wes Anderson lover (I am obsessed). Filled with awesome photos and behind the scenes scoops about all his movies, this is screaming coffee table book.

The Mac & Cheese Cookbook must be a gift from the gods. A whole book dedicated to making macaroni and cheese even better is something every mac-n-cheese connoisseur needs in their life. Just like the Doctor the Recipe Shaker Set for the Whovians out there. There are just some items that will make you smile at every use.

Finally there's just something about The More You Gnome Zen Garden that makes me believe it could be the perfect gift this season. It's thoughtful yet quirky in a way that would spruce up anyone's office or add a little something extra to a room. I've always enjoyed the thought of zen gardens and adding adorable mushrooms and gnomes makes it ten times better.

Stay tuned for more posts from my 2014 Gift Guide Series! Would you get any of these items for your friends and family?

Brand Overview: OFRA Cosmetics + Giveaway!

It's been ages since I last wrote a brand overview post and I've been itching to get back into it! I discovered OFRA late last year when I got an eyebrow pencil by them in an Ipsy bag. It's been love ever since and I've been exploring the brand more fully lately. OFRA Cosmetics was created by Ofra Gaito and really got it's start in 1994. The brand includes both skincare and makeup, but I've only really explored the makeup side of things.

By far my favorite product has to be the Universal Brow Pencil. It's the creamiest pencil I've used and works incredibly well to fill in my eyebrows every morning. The color is perfect for my brow color and it lasts the entire day without smudging or disappearing.

The BB Cream is also surprisingly good. I've tried my fair share of BB creams and tinted moisturizers as I prefer a lighter base and this one is up there with my favorites. It's easy to blend, doesn't have a weird smell, and gives just the right amount of light coverage without looking out of place or streaky. It's hydrating but I wouldn't say overly so. I got the shade light and it blends in effortlessly to my slightly darker than light but still pretty pale skin tone.

I wasn't overly crazy about the Dark Brown Eyeliner when I first starting using it. But after a couple of uses the product warmed up, dulled a bit, and it became much easier to use. I've been using it on my lower lash line and smudging it out for more definition around my eyes. It has a decent staying power, but won't last a full day.

If you're looking for a bright, pigmented blush OFRA's "Paradise Pink" is just that. The most pigmented blush I've ever used, hands down. Like an idiot I put what I thought was a normal amount of blush on my brush and ended up looking like a clown the first time I gave this blush a go. A light hand is a must, but the color is beautiful. It also lasts all day. I love how big the packaging is as well. I'm sure it'll stink for the travelers out there, but I barely go anywhere so I can bask in its grandeur at my beauty desk.

Although "Rendezvous" is technically a pressed  blush as well, I've loved using this orange/brown shade to mix things up in the eye shadow department. I'm sure it would make for a great, darker blush as well, but I love how it looks on the lids swept in a haphazard fashion on days where I'm keeping things minimal. It really brings out my blue eyes and I love how it's not the typical neutral shade.

The pigmentation game is strong with OFRA's lipsticks. "Fuchsia" in particular is one of the most pigmented lipsticks I've ever used and the dark berry color makes it all the more vibrant. "Plum" isn't far from it, but leans more on the frosty side of things rather than in your face color. They're creamy and have serious staying power. I like to dab them on my lips for a more subdued look, but it wouldn't take much to build things up for a bold statement lip. The lipstick color range is also fantastic. Lots of pretty pinks I wouldn't dare try to wear.

If you haven't tried OFRA Cosmetics products yet I definitely recommend that you do! It's a brand I'm still discovering and one that definitely has some gems in its product range. And for a bonus I'm giving away the majority of the products I talked about to one of my lovely readers!

You could win everything in this photo!! The giveaway will be open internationally for one week. If you're under 18-years-old be sure to have parental consent to enter.

Good luck!

Revlon ColorStay Whipped Crème Makeup

On a whim (isn't that always the case?) I decided to pick up the Revlon ColorStay Whipped Crème Makeup on a recent trip down the drugstore aisle. I've given it a fair try out and have a mixed opinion to report.

Let's start with the shade. I chose "250 Medium Beige" after hanging out far too long in the aisle. The packaging makes it damn near impossible to tell what shade to get. I thought for sure I'd be on the lighter end of the spectrum but I kept swatching higher and higher until I landed on "250". The range is great for lighter skin tones who have a hard time finding lighter shades.

The consistency is definitely whipped. It's light to the touch and applies really easily to the skin. I'd say this has a fairly medium coverage but definitely can be sheered out or built up. The finish is  satin to matte.

Now on to my qualms. I loved this product at first. The application was nice, the coverage what I wanted, and the packaging super cute. The first application I used a beauty blender and found that my skin was irritated and dry a few hours after putting on my makeup. It got to the point that by the late afternoon I had to take my makeup off because my skin felt so irritated. The next day I opted for a finger application to see if the irritation was caused by the blender rather than the foundation. Although not as irritated, my skin still felt raw and uncomfortable enough that I had to take my makeup off earlier than intended again.

I have fairly normal to dry skin so maybe this foundation just heightened the dryness aspect. I feel as if this foundation would be fantastic for oily skinned gals, but with winter right around the corner I need to start getting as much moisture to my skin as I can get. Everything about this foundation I like, but I rather not have my face flake off or become a cracked desert.

If you've tried this foundation definitely let me know. I had such high hopes for it and will give it another go in the summer when my skin isn't so dry. Until then I'm steering clear and heading to more moisture.

The 2014 Gift Guide Series

I've been itching to start this series since September and now it's finally an appropriate time to kick off the 2014 gift guide series! Every week there will be new gift guides featuring some of my favorite places to shop! I'll show you some of my favorite goodies from each shop to help you pick the perfect gifts for the people on your list. If there are any discounts running I'll provide those too!

Instead of sorting the gift guides based on person I've decided to switch things up and sort them based on store. Lots of the stores I shop at have very distinct styles that I want to highlight. Plus it'll be easier to place one order if you're shopping online instead of going back again if you see another item you'd like in a later post.

Some stores I'll be featuring are: ModCloth, Sephora, Paper Source, Etsy, ThinkGeek, and more!

If you have any shops you'd like to see a gift guide post for just let me know!

Top 5 Favorite Hair Products

When it comes to my hair, the easier the better. As long as my hair isn't clinging to my head like a dead rat I'm happy. These products help to give my hair a little more life while keeping things simple for a hair amateur.

The first product to kick off any sort of hair routine was the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray. YouTube video after YouTube video kept warning me about the damage caused by daily blow dryer use. My hair has never really shown any signs of over blow drying, but I thought might as well have an insurance policy just in case. A few spritz of this and I feel better about constantly blowing my hair dry.

Dove's Fresh+Care Dry Shampoo is the first dry shampoo I've tried to actually do something to my hair besides make it feel gross. It smells good and adds enough volume in my hair to give it a little life. I don't think it's the end all be all dry shampoo champion, but I'm quite the happy camper with it. Plus it's hella affordable.

Without any help or encouragement, my hair is stick straight and incredibly fine. Growing up I swear I had Hermione Granger's hair from the first few movies, but since then it's gone flat and lifeless. I've finally found three products that give texture and oomph to my hair where countless other products have failed.

Up first is the least effective of the group but still a downright lovely, affordable option. The L'Oréal TXT It Tousle Waves Spray gives my hair enough grit to give it some bounce. I'm sure on most hair it would add a nice amount of wave and body, but I'm quite happy with the little something extra it brings. My favorite part is the smell. Some mornings I use it just because it smells good. It doesn't weigh down the hair in the slightest either.

My two newest hair product favorites are from Bumble and Bumble. I've been wanting to try their products for over a year now but couldn't stomach the price without knowing if it would work on my stubborn locks or not. Sephora had a value set of a number of the products I've wanted to give a go so I scooped it up and couldn't be happier with my findings.

The Bumble and Bumble Texture (Un) Dressing Creme helps to give the roots a bit of grit and some much needed texture. My hair no longer looks pin straight with this stuff. I don't get Alexa Chung hair like I would like, but I definitely get as close as I think I'll ever get. It's definitely a build up to your desired look kind of product and I'm looking forward to experimenting to find the perfect amount for the ideal look.

My holy grail hair product is definitely the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray. This stuff seriously works. Applied to wet/damp hair then blow dried hair gets more volume, texture, and has that lived in look I've envied for ages. It also smells like Smarties which thrills me an absurd amount. The best part? It lasts all day. The entire work day I have full, long bob perfection. It's a dream come true.

What are your favorite hair products?

Monet Rejuveniqe Oil

Let me start off by saying that oils and I usually don't get along with oils. Any hair oil leaves my poor fine hair feeling greasy and disgusting. Before the Monet Rejuveniqe Oil I didn't even consider putting an oil somewhere other than my hair. Sure it's specifically for hair, but I've started using this oil on my skin and couldn't be happier.

The packaging is seriously divine. Shiny silver metal with the coolest eye dropper makes this packaging worthy of staying out on my beauty desk. The oil isn't thick but more slippery in texture. Plus it smells like yellow Starbursts. Yes please.

I like to use this oil on my elbows primarily. It sinks in incredibly fast and leaves my skin feeling soft and no longer like elephant skin. In regards to how it works in the hair it didn't leave my hair feeling greasy and gross after a few hours. My hair felt softer than ever before and didn't have as much static as it usually does this time of year.

I've definitely judged oils too harshly before this. Not all oils are created equal and this one is definitely a lovely one.

What hair/skin oils do you like to use?

This Week's Most Loved #44

Let's talk weekly favorites shall we? I've been in an exploring mood lately and have been digging around my stash a lot. I've rekindled love with some products and have fell in love with a few new ones.

The OFRA BB Cream is a new discovery that I've been head over heels about. It's a cross between the NARS tinted moisturizer and a BB cream, so light coverage yet still improves the look of my skin. Plus the amount of product you get for the price is phenomenal. Not the best for travel, but I rarely do so I'm a happy camper. I have the shade "light" and it's perfect for my not fair but still light skin tone. It blends like a dream and looks dewy all day.

It's that time of year where LUSH's Mint Julips Lip Scrub becomes my best friend again. I have a terrible habit of biting on my lips and the cold winds don't help the situation. This minty treat is perfect for getting all the gross bits off my lips and making them smooth again. A must have for someone like me if I want to not have crappy looking lipstick applications.

Another old favorite that's getting some love from me lately is the LORAC Pro Palette. I'm not as obsessed with this guy as everyone else seems to be, but I do like to give it a whirl now and again. I've been loving the middle shades for a nice neutral look. These shadows are pigmented, so if you have fall out trouble like I do, be prepared.

Revlon's "Wine Not" has quickly climbed the ranks to being one of my top blushes. It's unlike anything I have in my collection. It's dark, but not too dark that you'll be blending for days. The perfect autumn/winter blush with a butt load of pigmentation. My only wish is that it filled the entire packaging and I didn't get a silly brush with it.

My hair is finally getting some attention again. For months I've blow dried it quickly and went on my merry way. But lately I've been finding a few spare moments in the morning to throw a little product in it and have been loving the results. My go to is the L'Oréal TXT It Tousle Waves Spray. It definitely doesn't give my hair waves, but it adds volume and grit to it so it isn't just flat and lifeless. I don't expect much when it comes to hair products with my fine and stubborn hair, but anything that does something I'm all for. Plus it smells really good.

What products have you been loving this week?

My 20 Minute Morning Routine

During the work week I more or less have to drag myself out of bed. By the time my feet finally hit the floor I'm racing the clock to get to work on time. I've perfected my morning routine down to a science. Shower, get dressed, and sit down at the beauty desk with about 20 minutes before I have to leave for work.

Most days I keep my makeup routine fairly simple, primer, tinted moisturizer, concealer, a bit of eye shadow, blush, mascara, and lipstick. And don't forget the brows. On days where I'm running more behind than usual I may only do my brows. They really help to make me look not so dead. My everyday makeup routine is nothing fancy and includes nothing that takes too much effort. If you're interested in hearing about my current favorite everyday makeup products, let me know in the comments!

If I have a few extra minutes I'll use some eyeliner or put more dimension into my eye shadow, but I spend the majority of my days in an office staring at a computer screen. Design work and social media doesn't require a whole bunch of makeup. On days where I have an event to go to our I have a lot of meetings, I'll try and wake up a little earlier to make myself more presentable.

For hair I usually just blow dry it about three quarters of the way dry and run out of time. Lately I've been trying to treat it better and put some product in it. I have a fairly simple routine, but if it interests you I will definitely share it.

I run into the kitchen, grab some food for lunch, go into the office for the Oh Hello orders I finished the night before to be put in the mailbox, and I'm out the door in about 20 minutes. It's a whirlwind of a morning that can be solved with waking up just a little bit earlier, but I love my sleep and I've found a routine that works for me!

What's your morning routine? Are you swimming in time or rushing to get out the door?

Gift Sets for Beauty Lovers

With the VIB Sale starting tomorrow and with Christmas slowly sneaking up on us, a gift set guide was definitely in order. I've been spending way too much time on the Sephora website lately looking at all the gift sets released this year and have compiled them into an easy list...

For the hair product obsessed
My Pick: Bb. Stylist Editions Kit. The perfect set for a hair product lover who's looking to expand into the world of Bumble and Bumble. Four large travel sizes perfect to create any look.

For the skincare lover
My Pick: Origins Mini Mask Marvels. These masks are downright amazing and something every skincare lover should have in their collection. I'm particularly obsessed with the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. It's downright lovely.

For the makeup junkie
My Pick: CLINIQUE Pretty Party Set. The ultimate gift set in my book. There's a gorgeous compact palette, full size lip crayon, mascara, and eye liner. Plus nail polish! It's hard to find good sets with full sized products that aren't an arm and a leg. This one is reasonable while giving you a lot of usable products.

For the newbie
My Pick: Benefit You Go Gals! A perfect little set for anyone wanting to get into makeup. I got a set quite similar to this when I first started to explore higher end makeup.

What sets are you looking at this year?

The Moisture Crew

November just started and I'm already feeling the dry skin kick in. Moisture is my best friend in the winter months when my once normal skin decides to become a desert on my face and body. There are a handful of products I reach for as soon as the weather gets colder and I'm in need of some moisture.

For body care I've really been enjoying the Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair lotion*. It's the richest formula Vaseline makes and it really does the trick on my elbows and legs. It's a no fuss product that doesn't have a scent which sometimes bugs me at night when I'm trying to go to sleep.

For skincare there are three products that are my saviors. It's almost impressive how dry my face can get in a matter of days, but these guys help to restore moisture to it overnight and stop that painful tugging feeling dry skin has. My favorite member of the moisture crew has to be the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. This has never steered me wrong. It's a clear mask that you apply before bed and leave on overnight. Just be sure to give yourself 15 to 20 minutes before settling into bed to let the mask sink in. It smells great and a little goes a long way. In the morning my skin feels refreshed and glowing. I'll be using this for years to come.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer  is another great option. It smells like oranges and is a light cream that sinks into the skin quickly. It's not as rich as the Origins mask, but a nice little something extra to help out dry skin. The Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins is another product that packs some serious moisture. You also leave this on your skin overnight as it works to give back what your skin needs. I'm not a big fan of the smell, but the way my skin feels and looks in the morning it's definitely worth it.

For makeup I couldn't live without my Stila One Step Correct. Regardless of whether or not I'm wearing makeup I'll put this on to add one last layer of moisture to my skin. It acts like a primer and moisturizer in one. Sinks into the skin perfectly and leaves it looking ready to take on the world.

What products do you use to fight dry skin?

xoxo Kayla
