Graduate School Beauty

If there's one thing I've learned from being employed full time and taking graduate classes, it's that a quick makeup routine is a must. Plus something that can last the entire work day and into the evening.

The Stila One Step Correct ($36) has been raved about on this blog for months so I won't go into too much detail. By far my favorite primer for lasting all day, correcting redness and uneven skin tones, and feeling great on my skin. Even on days where I don't want to wear any makeup I still find myself applying a layer of this, it's just that good.

Another much loved product is the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer ($42). A light base that provides just the right all-day coverage. It's my go to base and I often have to talk myself into using other foundations. Why cheat on a good product, right?!

One of the best ways to cut down on makeup time in the morning is by using a one sweep eye shadow like the Pupa Vamp! Cream Eyeshadow in "Iced Coffee" (€11,70). Incredibly creamy and pigmented this cream eye shadow glides on easy without any fuss.

Blush is probably the easiest step of my morning routines. I jump between using my two Tarte blushes and using theBalm's Frat Boy blush ($21). A perfect peachy pink that provides a nice pop to the cheeks without looking too full on.

A lasting mascara is a must for me on long days of work and class. The Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes ($20) mascara has amazing hold and lasts all day. It does leave the lashes a bit crunchy feeling, but you never notice unless you're constantly touching your lashes.

Lipstick has to be MAC's "See Sheer" ($16). I'm downright obsessed with this coral red. It provides an awesome wash of color without being too much or requiring a lot of upkeep. It's a definitely must swatch if you're near a MAC counter.

Grad school has definitely proven to be harder than expected, but at least with this easy makeup routine I can focus more on school than what's going on my face!

What's your school makeup routine?

xoxo Kayla

  1. I was recently gifted the Stila primer and I have to agree with you about how lovely it is! Not at all "mattifying" (aka drying) like all the other primers I've tried. I also adore the Nars Tinted Moisturiser! x
