Disappointing Products #2

No one likes disappointing products, but I see it as my duty to relay the good, bad, and the ugly of all things beauty. And this bunch has a surprising product from a well-loved brand.

Up first is this Clinique blush that apparently doesn't exist any more. Lucky for you because there's no chance of you accidentally buying this craptastic blush. I could barely get any product off of the pan and it had little to no pigmentation. I sincerely hope other Clinique blushes actually provide product! The Pacifica eye shadow duo I received in an Ipsy Glambag had to make an appearance in this post for how downright awful the quality of the shadows were. It's as if they placed the plastic pan beneath a chalk board to catch any scrapings and then labeled in eye shadow. It's terrible. It's turned me off of ever purchasing a Pacifica shadow ever again.

If you've seen my full review of the Maybelline Volum'Express Pumped Up! Colossal Mascara ($5.99) then you already know why this product ended up in this lineup. It doesn't do anything that it claims to do, doesn't lengthen, and doesn't add volume. It's pointless. I had high hopes for the Kiko Mat Base Corrector Primer (€8,90), but it feel short. It left a sticky film on the face and didn't seem to do anything for the skin to prep it for foundation.

I think I'm most disappointed in the deluxe sample of the NARS Lip Gloss (full size $26) I got with my Sephora Beauty Insider points. For such a high end, expensive brand you would think that NARS would have found a way to create a lip gloss that wasn't sticky, but sticky is an understatement. It was thick, gloopy, and attracted my hair like a magnet. The packaging is lovely but that only gets you so far. I'll be steering clear of their lip glosses in the future.

Have you been disappointed by any products lately?

xoxo Kayla

  1. Love the shade of the Nars lipgloss, although there is nothing worse than a sticky gloss that you hair
    is constantly getting stuck in!

  2. It's funny 'cos NARS reformulated it to make it LESS sticky but I guess that didn't work.
