Flip Flop Ready

I blame over ten years of competitive swimming year round for my weird desire to wear flip flops all year despite freezing temperatures. Crazy, I know. Luckily I've gotten wiser in my old age and have since stopped doing that. With summer in full force my feet needed a bit of pampering before sliding on my new pair of red Old Navy flip flops ($2.50).

First step (bahahah I find myself way more clever than I should) has to be LUSH's Volcano Foot Mask ($13.95). Although this is definitely a bit awkward to use (you wrap your feet up in plastic wrap and let this stuff sit and you try not to feel like you're marinating to be eaten), I love how moisturized and soft my feet feel after I wash the mask off.

Then I follow up with the Bare Foot Dragon Fruit Foot Lotion ($3.79)* to give my feet even more moisture. I really enjoy how the dragon fruit lotion smells and it absorbs into the skin quickly so you don't have to worry about slipping around or leaving a greasy trail after you apply this.

Finally if you're going to rock some flip flops you're going to need painted toes. I'm definitely a fan of the brights in summer and tend to gravitate towards the blues like Essie's "Naughty Nautical" ($8.50). Essie's "Tart Deco" ($8.50) or Essie's "Splash of Grenadine" ($8.50) are also great choices and remind me of ice cream. If you want to be even bolder, China Glaze's "Lemon Fizz" ($6.58) is a brilliant yellow shade that sill leans a bit towards the pastel side.

With a few short steps your feet will be flip flop ready for adventures to the beach.

How do you get flip flop ready?

xoxo Kayla

  2. To be honest, I never use footcream. My feet look just fine and I don't think I need it. The nailpolishes however... :)
