Spring Transitions

Ironically enough when I'm typing this there is a new layer of snow on the ground from a freak snow storm last night. Besides this minor mishap it had finally started to feel like spring here in Michigan. It's taken ages but I can finally feel the warmth...erm...at least I felt it a few days ago! In celebration I've been transitioning my makeup to be more in line with the spring in the air and the spring in my step. I do love spring.

My NARS Tinted Moisturizer ($42) has become my go-to base as of late. I love how light it is and that you can still see my skin underneath it. I'm definitely a foundation convert, but I still do love to return to my old ways of wearing a very light base. For cheeks I'm finally getting use out of my once beloved Benefit CORALista blush ($28). It's sat in my drawers all winter and has started to see the light of day once again. It provides the perfect warm glow to the cheeks without the pop of pink.

Keeping with the somewhat coral vibe my Almay Color + Care Liquid Lip Balm in "Rosy Lipped" ($5.99) has started to look a lot more appealing with the rise in temperature. It provides just enough color on the lips without being dark and heavy like most of my favorite late-in-the-year lip color choices. For shadow it's become almost nothing but my new Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Metal Eye Shadow in "Inked in Pink" ($6.99). It's very faint on the lids as it doesn't have too much pigmentation, but it provides a really nice subtle shimmer on days where I want to rock a no makeup, dewy look.

Finally for nails I've been gravitating towards those iconic spring shades like Essie's "Rock the Boat" ($8.50). Soft nails are my usual go to, but spring just makes it feel all the more perfect.

What makeup bits and bobs have you been using to transition into spring?

xoxo Kayla

  1. Lovely products! I like the sound of the Nars base moisturiser. I'm similar to you...I've been using more pastel shades for my nails, and I've also started using Benefit High Beam a bit more to highlight my features now the sun is starting to come out :) I've also just got into Max Factor's creamy blush which I reviewed the other day. It's lovely for spring/summer! Danielle x

  5. Love the light corals with the pastel blue nails. Great look for spring! I also love to use a light base when my skin just needs a bit of help instead of full coverage foundation. :)
