Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel

A recent online order from Ulta allowed me the chance to get one of the new Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel ($5.99) for free with my order. After mulling over which shade/scent combination I wanted to test out I opted for "Lavender Soap." It was a safe bet scent wise and I didn't own a silvery purple shade in my nail polish collection.

If you try to smell the polish right out of the container, you'll only get that classic nail polish smell and a slight headache. It's when your nails have dried that you start smelling hints of soap. It's an alright scent, but to me there's still that acidic scent of polish lingering when usually I can't smell it after my nails have dried. I'm not a fan of the round bobble you have to awkwardly grip when trying to apply the polish either. I have a hard enough time staying neat with the larger tops nail polishes come with.

It took about three good coats to build up any sort of pigmentation to the polish. I'm attributing this to the very light shade I picked, but the formula seemed very thin regardless. I'm just not crazy about the concept and am happy that I didn't have to spend money to give it a go. I'm going to be sticking with my average, non-perfumed nail polish over adding scents to my fingertips.

Have you tried Revlon's Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamels yet? What do you think?

xoxo Kayla

  1. I don't understand scented nail polish at all. This colour is lovely - lilac is one of my faves - but I can do without the scent ;))

  2. I wanna try these but I'm not so sure about the scented-ness! And the lid looks a pain to use tbh. Kinda reminds me of the scented gel pens when I was a kid! Xx

    1. It was really difficult to pick one..I would like the color of one but then I thought I wouldn't like the scent of it. The lid really is a big pain.

  3. I like scented nail varnishes but I think they are a bit of a novelty! This bottle is gorgeous though, really vintage-esque! xx

    1. I think it's a fairly good start, but missing some important elements that make it a good nail polish.

  5. I'm so excited for these to come out in the UK, not for the scent, for the colours. I've got my eye on Autumn Spice and African Tea Room! xx
