Recent Drugstore Purchases

I'm out of control. If I'm within 50 feet of a beauty aisle I'm down it before my boyfriend can see where I've gotten off to. This little haul happened when my friend Caitlin said she had acquired some coupons. Off we went to the drugstore. I did a fantastic job sticking (somewhat) to my wishlist and didn't veer off and make any wild purchases, so that has to be worth something right?

The L'Oréal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara ($8.99) had peaked my interest when I first saw it on a blog here or there. The packaging is beautiful and I've been using it this past week. Look out for a review soon! I wasn't going to get the Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquers ($4.79 each) that have had their run on the blogs, but I couldn't be stopped. Caitlin pushed me to get two colors that weren't too close in color (I kept saying they're "similar" but not the same!) so I picked up "Aurora" and "Comet". "Comet" is very close to my natural lip color so I've been gravitating towards it a bit more, but honestly I'm not crazy about their smell or consistency. I haven't seen anything like the Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick ($8.99) in drugstores before so I chose "Just Pinched Pink" as it was the least terrifying of the group. Believe it or not I don't own a single nude nail polish and I've been loving the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure ($7.99) formula. I grabbed "Royal Blush" and completely LOVE it. I may have just started an obsession with nude nails.

Have you picked up anything from the drugstore recently?

xoxo Kayla

  2. I'm loving a neutral nail at the minute, and I really like Sally Hansen's brushes and formulas, so that polish sounds right up my street. I've still not tried Apocalips (which is what the Show Off laquers must be called in the UK), would you not recommend? x

    1. I'm personally not a huge lipgloss fan to begin with. The color pay off is fantastic and they last a while, but I don't like the smell/taste of them very much.

  3. I love the 'Show-off's which are the 'Apocalips's here in the UK! Sleek is probably my favourite drugstore brand, along with Rimmel! x

    1. I don't give Rimmel the credit it deserves. It's one amazing brand with affordable prices and a lot of good products!

  4. I absolutely love Rimmel! Everything from them is so affordable and they have such a huge range of products! The two lip laquers you got are such beautiful shades!

I posted about my two lip laquers here - http://www.lthornberry.co.uk/2013/08/review-rimmel-apocalips-in-luna-and.html if you fancy reading about what I thought :)

  5. I'm not sure how I feel about the texture and smell of the Rimmel Apocalips either but at the same time, I can see why people like it.
