Guest Post: Winter Skin Saviors

I recently had the opportunity to guest post on Mascara and Maltesers! I thought I'd share the post I wrote for Belle!

Hi! I'm Kayla from Microscope Beauty and am overjoyed to be guest posting for Belle today! If London is anything like Michigan right now, it's downright frigid. There have been a few products I've been reaching for lately to combat the cold weather and to save my skin.

For lips I've been using (MALIN + GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm ($12) which came in a recent subscription box. It puts a substantial layer of protection on my poor chapped lips and helps nurse them back to supple help. I'm not overly crazy about lip products with scents or flavors, but this lip balm is subtle enough not to bother me. The Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer ($26.50) has been a favorite of mine since I picked it up about five or six months ago. I use it primarily in the morning to give my face a protective layer before trudging out into the frigid wilderness. The orange scent also does wonders at perking me up in the mornings.

The Body Shop Almond Hand and Nail Butter ($20) has been at my side constantly since the start of this crazy polar vortex business that has been hitting the United States. It smells amazing, but also does a fantastic job at getting moisture back into my hands. My hands seem to take the biggest beating during the colder months and I don't know what I would do without this tub of wonderfulness! Finally, the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask ($24) kicks serious butt in the moisture department. I've been applying this almost every night to my skin after my normal routine. In the morning I wake up with plump, moisture rich skin. It's my holy grail product when it comes to fighting winter dryness.

What are your winter saviors?

Be sure to stop by my blog and say hi!

xoxo Kayla

    1. I want to try a thicker cream in the same scent line. I think it'll be just as good!

    1. It's definitely hard to say if I like the overnight mask or the ginzing moisturizer more. They're both beyond amazing.
